Waxing Recommendations

Your waxing experience doesn’t end when you leave the salon—it’s just the beginning! To maintain that smooth, radiant skin and achieve your skin goals, here are some recommendations that can help. Let’s make your waxing journey a fabulous one! Kindly remember everyone’s skin is different and we cater to your unique needs.

1. Sunburn:
If you have a sunburn, please wait until it has completely healed before getting waxed. During your healing process, you can apply soothing ointments like aloe vera, Aquaphor, Vaseline, or La Roche-Posay with a cold compress. Remember not to pick at any peeling skin and always wear SPF to protect your skin!

2. Hydrate Internally and Externally:
Keeping your body hydrated is essential! Aim to drink 4-6 cups of water daily and moisturize your skin thoroughly with options like vitamin E oil or jojoba oil (or any of my recommended products). Hydrated skin is happy skin!

3. Let Your Hair Grow for 4 Weeks:
It’s crucial to allow a full 4 weeks of hair growth before your waxing appointment to ensure the smoothest results possible. This helps achieve that flawless finish!

4. Exfoliate:

  • For Sensitive Skin: Exfoliate once a week.
  • For Non-Sensitive Skin: Exfoliate 1-3 times a week, with 3 times being the maximum—never more!

Opt for physical exfoliators like:

  • Salt Scrubs
  • Zandiland Scrubs
  • Bushbalm Scrubs

Ditch the bacteria-harboring loofah and choose alternatives like:

  • Dry Brush
  • Nylon Net

If physical scrubs aren’t cutting it for your skin, consider chemical exfoliators like PFB Vanish or Good Molecules. If you are my client using these methods, please let me know. STOP using these products one week before and after your wax appointment. You can exfoliate 4-5 days prior, but never within 24 to 72 hours before or after your session! 💖

5. Clothes to Wear:
Comfort is key! Please wear loose-fitting clothing such as:

  • Dresses
  • Skirts
  • Joggers
  • Sweatpants

Opt for seamless or breathable cotton underwear with no lining. And for ultimate comfort, going without panties can help too!

6. Body Wash:
For those with sensitive skin, consider:

  • Jason Aloe Vera
  • Sweet Spot Labs
  • KP Body Scrub

You can use Natrium’s “Glow Getter” and “Multivitamin” body washes every day! However, for other Natrium products, please stop using them one week before and after your appointment, then you can continue afterward.

7. Wipes:
Keep wipes on hand to swipe away sweat before it seeps into your skin, helping to avoid ingrowns and body odor. Recommended options:

  • Heb Hypoallergenic No Fragrance Wipes
  • Good Clean Love Wipes
  • Zandiland Wipes
